Interesting facts about Genghis Khan

Founding father of Mongolia - good guy or

bad?

When you travel to Mongolia, you’ll hear all about Genghis Khan.  Most of us think of him as a blood-thirsty leader that left a trail of death and destruction in his wake as he went on to conquer China, Beijing and Russia to create the world’s largest empire.  It stretched from the Caspian Sea to the Sea of Japan, with over 700 tribes and cities under his rule.  Over a period of 21 years he conquered nearly 12-million square miles of territory. But was he such a bad guy?

Discover the wonders of Namibia

Every holiday to Namibia should include a stop-off to admire the strange-looking and bizarre Welwitschia plant.  There is nothing else like it in the rest of the world and it is only found growing in isolated patches in the arid Namib Desert, in central Namibia. It is considered a living fossil.

Cape Route 62 - Ride an ostrich in Oudtshoorn

A favourite stopover on the Spectacular South Africa tour with Lekker Adventures is Oudtshoorn. Situated in the Klein (Little) Karoo, it is known as the “ostrich capital of the world”. These gawky, odd birds pretty much rule the roost.
